What is "checking"

All mobile phones have an IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number.

This can be found behind the battery of your mobile phone or by dialling *#06# on the keypad of your mobile phone.

All users of Fonreg that register their mobile phones on our database have the option to change the status of their mobile phone.

Status can be a change of ownership, Lost or Stolen.

Checking is the process of entering an IMEI number in the Fonreg database to check if the phone has been reported Lost or Stolen.

All results are forwarded to the Law Enforcement Agencies after checking.
